Emily Chiinze: From Pastry Chef to Digital Chef

Before she grew Facebook communities, she grew pastries in hot ovens – muffins and memories. Before algorithms, came apron strings. Before reach and reels, there were racks of freshly baked goods rising with purpose. Her name is Emily Chiinze – and she’s proof that you can rewire your career without losing your flavour.

Emily began her pastry journey in 2015, armed with nothing but determination, recipes, and an instinct to serve. She didn’t just bake for survival-she baked with intention. By the time the pandemic reached its peak in 2020, she had already baked over 15,000+ scones and muffins, and 3,000+ cakes. That’s not marketing hype-it’s work ethic measured in oven trays and customer loyalty.

But in the quiet moments between orders, a different hunger stirred. She wanted to grow, not just bake.

That growth came in the form of coaching under Oscar Manduku-Habeenzu, the founder of Cabanga Media Group. Emily enrolled in and completed the Cabanga Digital Navigator Certification-a practical, Africa-rooted program that trains entrepreneurs in real-world digital strategy, not textbook fluff. She didn’t just pass the course-she lived it.

Immediately after graduating, she put her skills to the test. With nothing but a smartphone and her new know-how, she launched Awesome Pastries. In just six months, she grew her Facebook page from zero to 6,000 followers-organically. No paid ads. No bots. Just real strategy, authentic storytelling, and consistent engagement.

She has just finished writing her recipe book based on Awesome Recipes, a compilation of over 40 recipes, to be published soon.

She had officially become a Digital Chef.

But Emily didn’t stop there. Her skills caught the attention of other entrepreneurs who were struggling to keep their social media alive. One of her recent clients, Plan Printing Services-a housing plan and printing shop based in Harare-handed her a cold, dormant Facebook page. Within one month, she warmed it up to 600 active followers, giving the business a visible online footprint and fresh leads. Another of her clients, BehaviourReport.com, had a Facebook page that needed reactivating in terms of traffic. Within 90 days, she had traffic averaging 1 million to 3 million views for reels, and grew followers from 7,000 to 10,000 respectively, organically.

In 2025, she co-founded Awesome Digital Pty Ltd, to serve clients in South Africa and Zimbabwe, specialising in Organic Facebook Management.

Her speciality?
🌱 Organic Facebook growth.
🧩 Community management that works.
🎯 Consistency with purpose.

She’s not selling shortcuts. She’s not pushing trends.
She’s doing for Facebook what she used to do for cakes: crafting something that feeds people.

Her current portfolio includes:

If you’re running a business and your page is gathering dust…
If you post but nobody responds…
If you know your brand deserves more online…

Then maybe what you need is not a campaign.
Maybe what you need is a Digital Chef.
